PTO Annual Appeal- Support Our Sharks
Our Shorewood Hills Elementary School PTO starts the year with our Annual Appeal (Support Our Sharks), which funds our budget for the school year. Today, we are kicking off the campaign with a goal to raise $20,000 by October 24th.
Here is where the money will go:
- Funding school community-building events, like the outdoor Fall Festival, Science Night, International Week, 5th grade graduation, and more!
- Supporting all students with spirit gear and yearbooks for everyone, regardless of ability to pay.
- Funding student enrichment opportunities like the poet David Daniel, after-school clubs, and new possibilities.
- Recognizing our teachers and staff with meals throughout the year and a teacher/staff member discretionary fund – a small budget to help pay for classroom needs.
- Supporting families in need at our school and in our community. With our Families in Need Fund, we collaborate directly with our school social worker to provide gift cards and other items to families.
- Funding teacher and school special requests –adaptive tricycle for inclusive recess time, supporting 3rd grade field trip transportation, 2nd grade garden bed project, student-led project: playground recycling bins, and purchasing much-needed supplies like noise reduction headphones for every classroom.
